Nowadays people are so afraid of living in rented houses because of their high wages. But there is a place where you have to pay once a year for rent for only €0.88... 

 Wait for what?? Yes, it's true. The place is in Germany. Wherefrom about 500 years the rent is the same as 500 years ago.

These houses are in Augsburg in Germany.   

The Fuggerei - the name of this organization is kept in the name of the Fugger Family. 

This organization was found by one of the Richest Person of that time - Jakob Fugger(1459-1525)

He is also known as - Jakob Fugger The Rich

He started this organization for the needy and poor people who can not afford high-rent houses. 

If you are thinking that because of its low rent the facility will be very bad, then that's wrong, these houses have modern facilities. These houses contain a kitchen, bedroom, a parlor, a spare room, television and so on. Each family has a separate apartment so no one has to share their room with others. These apartments have gardens, church separate entrance. 

Fuggerei was first built between 1514 and 1523 under the supervision of Thomas Krebs.

But the church was amplified by Hans Holl.

Fuggerei was badly destroyed during World War 2, but later on, it was renovated. 

Now it has 67 houses with 147 apartments. 

Do you wanna live in this association?? There are some rules to live in these association - 

1. The entrance gate is locked at 10 PM. No entry is taken at night after 10 pm.

2. You have to make 3 prayers for living in these associations daily for the current owner of the Fuggerei. The prayers are -

  The Lord's Prayer

  Hail Mary

  The Nicene Creed

3. If you want to live in this apartment you should have lived at least 3 years in Augsburg, for the Catholic belief.
